Custer County Conservation District is looking for Supervisors
The Custer County Conservation District is a subdivision of Colorado government comprised of the land in Custer County except for the two municipalities. This Special District was formed in 1939 in response to the degradation of our soil and water resources by the climate of the 1930s. In recent years the District has facilitated millions of dollars in water conservation through the construction of pipelines and related irrigation efficiencies. The District has also been involved in a number of projects along the West Range and in the Wet Mountains to improve long-term Forest health and wildlife habitat while delivering immediate wildfire mitigation.
Three seats on the Board of Supervisors are up for election on May 6, 2025. The nomination period expires February 28.
For more information or a self-nomination form please email the Conservation District at custer[email protected].
