Irrigation Infrastructure Assessment Project

4/22/2022

The District has received a grant from the Colorado Water Conservation Board facilitated by the Colorado Cattlemen's Association. The purpose of this grant is to critically assess the condition and needs of our irrigation infrastructure in the Grape Creek drainage. This is a voluntary program where an engineering firm will be available to review and assess an individual ranch's irrigation structures, ditches and/or pipelines and deliver a plan (if warranted) for upgrading and improving the overall irrigation efficiency for that ranch.

When the assessments have been completed the District will attempt to locate funding for all of the plans as a group project. By grouping all of the plans as a single watershed project the District hopes to be able to access funding sources that are not traditionally available individually.
